As part of the Courts Service Modernisation Programme, the Civil Reform Team have reviewed, improved and updated the information on Small Claims on Courts.ie.

This work has focused on ensuring the updated information is comprehensive, written in plain English, and aligned with court rules. While making sure it’s more accessible and easier to understand for our users.

This helpful new information sets out what falls within the remit of Small Claims and signposts to informational sources for other claims.

We have engaged with a broad range of court users to develop this information, including Court Service Staff, members of the Judiciary, Legal Practitioners, Advocacy and Consumer Groups, and members of the Public throughout this project.

Our widescale engagement allowed us to gather important insights and feedback on our users pain points in Small Claims, which has helped us develop this new and improved content.
